In Colorado I worked for a maker of rustic furniture whose products fill homes, cabins, and condos from Denver to the high-country. My favorite work in the shop was making plank tables of white pine with legs from lodge pole pine that we shaped using drawknives. The name of the company is The Beaver Works Inc. During my time there I wondered what would be the avenue to begin my own forays into making sellable furniture. For me the criterion is community need.

It is now six and a half years later I have my own shop space to work with and in that time I made quite a few tables and various special items for classroom use for a local Montessori school. From this work I know it can be hard for parents to find furniture for their children that they feel is harmonious with the ways they are seeking to raise their children. With this in mind my aim is to make pieces that are useful as well as pleasing and that draw the child to their use.
